Every year in July, our associates observes World Environment Day with a weeklong “Make Every Day an Earth Day” awareness campaign. As part of the festivities, Veekay Plast distributed saplings to associates and neighbouring organizations. These saplings were housed in a recycled pot and contained in a recycled bag.

Veekay Plast group also runs a world class school Hindustan International Academy in Jaipur, dedicated to giving high quality high school education to underprivileged students at free of cost inspiring them to aim higher and work for the development of the country.

At Veekay Plast, the environmental safety of cleaning supplies, equipment, and processes are an important consideration given their ability to enter the air, food and water supply. Our custodial team uses only sustainable products and materials, helping to ensure a healthier atmosphere for associates and minimizing the impact on the environment. Veekay Plast also contracts pest control with a company that uses environmentally-sensitive materials for extermination activities.

Veekay Plast engages in a multi-faceted recycling program at our manufacturing unit. Of the total waste produced at this facility each year, an estimated 45% is recycled. Another key component of the Veekay Plast recycling program is the disposal of electrical equipment in an environmentally-responsible way. This form of recycling includes computer components and toner cartridges. Veekay Plast also recycles batteries, and given the large volume of UPS (Uninterrupted Power Supply) batteries, the recycled quantity amounts to approximately 80,000 INR per year.
